  • Cody Rhodes to Return to the WWE?

Cody Rhodes to Return to the WWE?

WWE superstar Cody Rhodes is reportedly recovering well from his pectoral injury.

Rhodes, who has been out of action due to a torn pectoral muscle since June, is working out, but any upper body weights he uses are extremely light.

Rhodes doesn’t have a set return date, but could possibly be cleared for a surprise Royal Rumble return or for WWE’s Day 1 pay-per-view — which will be held in his hometown of Atlanta.

Rhodes made his WWE return after a nearly six-year absence at WrestleMania 37 in April, becoming the first major All Elite Wrestling star to sign with the company, having also previously served as an executive and a crucial factor in the promotion’s 2019 launch.

  • RJ Barrett Will Prove Doubters Wrong

RJ Barrett Will Prove Doubters Wrong

After the New York Knicks and Utah Jazz were unable to come to an agreement on a trade for Donovan Mitchell, New York’s front office opted to sign RJ Barrett to a four-year, $120 million extension. With Mitchell now on the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Knicks are moving forward under the direction of Barrett.

Barrett, who turned 22 in June, is entering his fourth season in the NBA. He’s steadily improved each year, and last season, he averaged 20 points in 70 contests. With New York signing Jalen Brunson in free agency, Barrett’s numbers are expected to improve now that an actual point guard will be running the team’s offense.

After the 2021-22 season came to an end, Barrett said that his goal for the upcoming season is to earn his first All-Star nod. There’s reason to believe that could happen, although being that RJ’s on the Knicks, many people are doubting him. However, New York fans know what Barrett’s capable of and expect to see him fully take over in 2022-23.

  • It’s Yankees vs Astros

    It’s Yankees vs Astros

Gerrit Cole is undeniably the ace for the Yankees, and he did exactly what he’s supposed to in this division series. Cole may not have been the absolute best starter for New York this season, but he is their most talented, and the one they will always lean on when he’s needed the most. They needed the world from Cole in the ALDS, and he delivered.

    Jets Beat Packers 27-10

The New York Jets’ dominated Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers 27 – 10.

In the first half, neither team could get much going on offense. In the third quarter, the Jets put together a 74-yard drive highlighted by two Corey Davis catches that got the Jets down to the Packers 20-yard line. From there, Braxton Berrios ran it in for a 10-3 Jets lead.

Micheal Clemons blocked a Packers punt, and the Jets recovered and ran it in for a touchdown and a 17-3 lead late in the 3rd quarter.

The Packers answered with a 75-yard drive helped by two Jets penalties. A 25-yard Aaron Rodgers to Allen Lazard touchdown pass capped off the drive to bring the Packers within 7 points at 17-10 late in the 3rd quarter.

Early in the fourth quarter, Breece Hall broke free for a 34-yard touchdown run to give the Jets a 24-10 lead.

The Jets then put together an impressive drive to seal the victory. Running the ball on every play, the Jets chewed up clock and got the ball all the way down to the 1-yard line before settling for a short field goal and an all but insurmountable 27-10 lead with less than 3 minutes to play.

  • South Koreans Love Chex Cereal!

    South Koreans Love Chex Cereal!

South Koreans have waited 16 long years for a savory, crispy bite that would satisfy their taste buds. This week, they finally could fill a bowl with the cereal they wanted all along: green onion-flavored Chex.

Kellogg’s Korea’s limited-edition flavor released this week, complete with a catchy ad and an apology for the wait.

In 2004, the company advertised a public vote for a new product: chocolate-flavored Cheki or green onion-flavored Chaka.

Now both flavors are finally available.

South Korean Twitter has been rejoicing by uploading photos of their Chex. Some, feeling adventurous, sprinkled green onion cereal pieces as garnish on South Korean signature dishes including kimchi and spicy ramen noodles.

Like Americans, South Koreans typically eat their cereal with milk, but some say green onion Chex tastes better alone or with a drink like beer or soju.

It has an onion background taste, reminiscent of onion ring snacks that are popular in Korea.

    Giants Upset Ravens 24-20

The New York Giants scored a comeback 24-20 victory over Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.

Down 20-10 in the fourth quarter, the Giants scored 14 unanswered points to move ahead in crunch time. An interception set up the game-winning touchdown, and then rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux stripped Jackson on what could have been Baltimore’s game-winning possession.

Daniel Jones completed 19 of 27 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, one that went to rookie wideout Wan’Dale Robinson, and the other to rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger. Saquon Barkley didn’t dominate all game, but finished rushing for 83 yards and one touchdown.

Jackson, on the other hand, completed 17 of 32 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Surprisingly, the offense was carried by running back Kenyan Drake, who rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries. • Taco Bell Outlet Tries “Automat” Style Service

Taco Bell Outlet Tries “Automat” Style Service

Taco Bell has opened a “digital only” fast-food outlet in New York City’s Times Square that uses automated kiosks to take food orders.

The Mexican-themed chain said the new location in the heart of Midtown features a bank of 10 kiosks where customers place their orders and pay. Opposite the kiosks stands a wall of locked cubbies that dispense tacos, burritos and chips.

The cubbies harken back to the days of automats that had populated Times Square in the decades through the 1970s, but Taco Bell said its new eatery represents the most “forward-tech” eatery in the chain.

Customers can see their burritos getting wrapped in the open kitchen, but when the order’s ready, it’s placed in heated cubbies that then light up pink. Customers enter their order number on the cubby’s touchscreen and the door opens.

  • Giants Surprise Packers 27-22!

    Giants Surprise Packers 27-22!

The Giants have shown remarkable grit and determination this season. They took that fighting spirit overseas to London and showed an international audience — and the Packers, from Green Bay, Wisc. — that this is a new and quite improved Giants operation.

The Giants trailed 17-3 in the second quarter and 20-10 at halftime against Aaron Rodgers and it looked as if this would not be a fruitful  trip across the pond for coach Brian Daboll’s club. What transpired in the second half was stunning. The Giants on defense pitched a shutout. Daniel Jones gutted out yards and points. Saquon Barkley was forced out with a shoulder injury and returned.

Barkley scored the game-winning touchdown with 6:08 remaining and then turned the game over to their largely no-name defense. Rodgers moved the Packers to the Giants’ 7 yard line but on fourth down his pass was deflected up and into the air by blitzing safety Xavier McKinney. The ball fell harmlessly to the grass at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with 1:11 remaining and soon after the Giants secured an improbable 27-22 comeback victory.

  • Jets Run Past Dolphins, 40-17

    Jets Run Past Dolphins, 40-17

The New York Jets moved to 3-2 with an impressive victory over the Miami Dolphins, 40-17. It was the Jets first win over an AFC East team in 13 tries.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was out this week with a concussion, and backup Teddy Bridgewater on the first play from scrimmage suffered an elbow injury along with a potential concussion and was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to the NFL’s new protocols. Seventh-round pick Skylar Thompson took over in his stead.

Jets QB Wilson completed 14-of-21 passes for 210 yards, and all five New York touchdowns came via the ground. Rookie running back Breece Hall was the star of the show, as he rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown. He also shined in the passing game, as he caught two passes for a total of 100 yards. Defensively, Jets rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner stood out. He recorded his first career interception, and made the hit that knocked Bridgewater out of the game.

Thompson completed 19-of-33 passes for 166 yards and one interception in his first NFL action aside from preseason play. Raheem Mostert was someone who kept the Dolphins’ offense afloat, as he rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown. Tyreek Hill caught seven passes for 47 yards.
