Burger King Set To Modernize Nationwide

Burger King is planning to invest more than $400 million over two years in advertising, restaurant enhancements, and modernization.

The chain’s owner, Restaurant Brands International, shared details of a plan it calls “Reclaim the Flame” aimed at accelerating sales growth and driving franchisee profitability.

The investment is intended to modernize the Burger King restaurant portfolio and improve the customer experience, attracting more traffic to the brand.

Burger King said it would invest in premium branding to “reaffirm the elevated position of its flame-grilled Whopper,” in addition to building a chicken sandwich portfolio with the launch of the Royal Crispy Chicken sandwich.

It noted that, as the cost of food at home continues to face pressures from inflation, it will continue to provide “a strong everyday value offering in its menu.”

McMahon resigned from all his roles within TKO, including TKO Executive Chairman and on the TKO Board of Directors, after the bombshell lawsuit that alleged him to be involved in a sex trafficking and abuse scandal from a former WWE employee, Janel Grant.

Grant alleged McMahon coerced her into engaging in sexual activities with himself and other men and allegedly shared explicit photos of the victim with various men inside and outside of the company.

NEW YORK — Howard Johnson and Al Leiter were inducted into the New York Mets Hall of Fame.

Johnson played for New York from 1985 through 1993. He ranks third in team history with 202 stolen bases and fourth in homers (192) and RBIs (629). Leiter grew up a Mets fan in New Jersey before pitching for the team from 1998 through 2004.

The 62-year-old Johnson played his first big league game in 1982 for the Detroit Tigers and his last one with the Chicago Cubs in 1995.

Johnson and Leiter were joined by broadcasters Gary Cohen and Howie Rose, who have called the team’s games on radio and television since 1989 and 1995, respectively. Longtime media relations executive Jay Horwitz also was honored with a Hall of Fame achievement award.

He started Games 1 and 5 of the 2000 Subway Series, throwing 142 pitches in the latter game and taking the loss when Luis Sojo hit a two-run single in the eighth inning to give the Yankees their third straight championship.

  • Yankee Rookie Ben Rice Hits Three Homers

Yankee Rookie Ben Rice Hits Three Homers

It was Rice — who debuted just two and a half weeks ago — who opened the scoring with a homer, all but ended the game with another and launched himself into Yankees history with a third.

It was Rice, a 25-year-old who came up through the system without much pedigree as a 12th-rounder from Dartmouth and really without a position, who became the first Yankees rookie ever to blast three home runs in one game.

Proof of his rawness could be found in his circuitous trip through the dugout after his final shot of the afternoon, trying to find the right spot for his first curtain call as teammates jostled him.

By the time Rice’s work was done, the Yankees had pounded the Red Sox, 14-4, in front of 45,504 fans in The Bronx.

Ten different teams are represented in this year’s All-Star starting lineups, with the Phillies leading the way with three representatives, the Yankees, Orioles, Astros, Guardians, Brewers and Padres sending two each, and the Blue Jays, Dodgers and D-backs sending one. There are eight players who were elected starters by the fans for the first time.
